2D Art Request

Guys, I tried my best at this but the results came out rather sucky. Would anybody with the time and inclination mind editing the high resolution Vilderan map that's out there so that the big 'VILDERAN' text that's across the middle is no longer there?

Reason for this is I'm trying to implement a Diablo III style waypoint system so you can 'interact' with the map and choose where to go rather than select from a list in a drop-down box ;) This also opens up a simple way to extend the game by allowing players to go to areas they otherwise could not reach.

This is a very cool feature. I thought about it long ago, but did not understand how to implement it.

Hey, PJ. Maybe it will help you, I used another map(ingame map) to restore a few letters.

There's a bit of  smudge (blending error) beneath Imperial Camp but otherwise that's brilliant!

Well, I know . I was too lazy to do it better  ::), because in any case there is still a lot of work.

When you show the concept? I can`t wait to see it.  :)

Your level of quality is also better than what I can achieve given the time I have to work on this. Are you willing to finish the rest of it? If not, I can be the one to continue it but it will still take me a while :( ...

Nope, I'm too busy with my mod and ideas, besides I believe in you.  ;)
I think that time is not so important, in any case, DeeZire can always use the image with the inscription "Vilderan" and replace it later.

This looks great.  :) What size of the texture you plan to use? 1024*1024?

Yes, going to have to in order for it to fit, that makes the file 1MB with DXT3 but the rest if the mod is surprisingly small, it's actually proving fairly simple to do. I'll post a working prototype soon, right now this is only accessed from the Mapworks.

It's still at a larger size/resolution than needed, just to compensate for any more adjusting you might need to do.

Hey Deez!  You've probably already got the UI waypoint functionality working, but if you haven't, I've got this concept working in my Lure of Ember files (which are uploaded somewhere around here and probably on Steam, too).
