I pulled down the sw_pets mod to check out goba to see what error you guys are getting.

goba_pet runs fine in guts.

Is there anything in your ogre log?

It seems that it only happens to Mac users like me. I do not know about the others OS. :)

From the beginning I was not able to use "Star Wars Pets Beta 1.11" mod, every time I use I always crash. :'(

When the Pet in that mod is added to the Pet Variant. I also experienced a crash.

Chronology Crash:
- I crash when I want to open the 4th tab of Variant Pet, I can see the pet that is on the tabs 1-3.
- On tab 4 there is goba pet, and after goba is removed I can go to Tab4 and so on.
- But I crash when I choose a pet Mech Crawler, where the pet is also included on Star Wars Pets Beta.
- After that @Korzeam tries to re-encode the existing DDS file on the Mech Crawler pet.
- After that I tried again to choose Pet Mech Crawler, and the result I can choose it without crash. :D
- And I was wondering if it is possible if the Goba pet to re-encode the DDS file will be repairable like a Mech Crawler pet. ::)
- But the results can't be, crash occurred again. I can not get to the Tab where there is a Goba pet. :(

Hi @Korzeam :) are all the pet icons using the same DDS encoding? Because its possible there might be another pet causing Mac crashes, other than Goba...

Hi @Phanjam.
In fact, I 've re-encoded the DDS files for Goba model, but not for the icons.
That's what I'm trying now.

@Sch123 : can you try one more time (same link) ?

Wow, what have you done @Korzeam  ???, I don't know what to say other than say "Awesome". Now, there is no crash, even I can play Pet Goba. :D

Info: Maybe there will be a new pet, I hope later can be added also in Variant Pet.



Still remaining:

- Adding Missing Pet and Missing Pet Skin
- Fixed Pet that can not use Spell
- Fixed Pet that can not Attack
- Fixed when Pet Sand Colossus walk the screen vibrates to much (remove the vibration)
- Fixed size for some pet, like Pet Scorpion (More smaller)
- Fixed Pet "King in Masks" looks without face on the Pet Tab when played.
- Add some Pet Icon

Note: Let me know if there is anything missing, for Phase 1 ;)

Question:

- Will you give different status to each Pet?
- Will you give Information status to each Pet?
- Will you make skin White Tiger for Pet Panther from Tiger skin?



As we've discussed, about harmonizing with other Modes Like Synergies & Essentials, in this case for the same pet & same pet name. Do you have any ideas for that ?. Because I found a duplicate pet, for example pet skeleton, warbeast, etc ...

Indeed, it does not become so problematic it just looks less presentable.

How small do you want the scorpion? It is really easy to scale it with ogre mesh magic since when I exported it all the animations were in one file.

I suppose I could make "assorted sizes scorpions"  :D

Thanks for the proposal @Vkoslak.
But don't worry about that, in GUTS I can change the size easily.

My plan is to make two versions of the mod.
The first one (the one I'm working on right now) won't have any differences between pets (same stats and no skills if possible).
The second one corresponds to phase 3, and will contain different stats and skills.

Yes I will harmonize pet names with these two mods to avoid doubles.

I have an idea, after Phase 1 is done when you will make a fish for the pet I think it is better to use the icon of the pet itself as an icon fish. To avoid the same fish icons. Or maybe you have a unique icon for each pet, like the one in Gao Pet mod. Actually it could have been given a different color as a differentiator, but it's already applied in Essential mod, I'm afraid of confusion for the fish.

For the fish itself where will you put it? I mean, are you going to make a special merchant Variant Pet Fish, or you'll put it in general merchant?. If you want to put it in general merchant I suggest to add Tab Fish that is there to sell fish only from Variant Pet Fish.

When I using Pet Swamp Troll to play, I found on Pet Tab Menu I'm not seen Pet Swamp Troll there,  there's only a black screen.

Quick answer : my goal is to have a specific merchant in each town who will sell the pets. The icons will be the same as pet icons.

Is it possible when we use a fish to change our pet, we get random skin. For example, our pet starter is Wolf and wants to be turned into an Owl. What I want to ask is, whether I will get an Owl with the default skin [skin no1] or can we get skins randomly? :)
