@Korzeam : Regarding the Dark Portal Pet prototype there is one more that is lacking, which is not able to use spells. More precisely, the pet can learn the spell (for example heal all), but the it doesn't work, and strangely enough MP from Pet actually decreases as if the Heal All skill was executed.

By the way, Did you already giving an Icon for Pet Dark Portal? because I see it there is no icon for Pet Dark Portal (Blank).

Can you add 3 Skins from Dire Wolf Pet (Dark, Gray & Snow) to Wolf Pet.

You can also get Dark & Gray skins from this Mod: New pet - Dire Wolf

And add Nightshadow Wolf skin & Hellfire Wolf skin from this Mod too: Wolf Pack

And also add more Chakawary Skins from this Mod: Coblin King's Chakawary Skins 1.0

I also found the Red Manticore without wings on this Mod: Monster Pack 001A (Attack Gorilla) , can you add it to Variant Pet?

Well I don't think I can fix this, if the pet can't attack it can't use spells as well.

Ther are already a grey and a white wolf, I just added a darker one.

I think these skins are already in my mod, or very close to existing ones.

I checked but these skins are in fact special effects applied to a black skin.
I can't add these without apply them to all the dire wolf skins.
Sorry but there are not interesting enough to make specific pets.

This one is very interesting, nice catch !
I've used this material to add 2 new armadax pets, and new skins for : manticore, banshee, chakawary, swamp troll, troglodyte, skeleton, wraith lord, aberration.

So I've uploaded a new version with 6 new pets :
- 2 armadax pets I mentioned before
- the wolf skeleton by Kva3imoda
- 3 new pets I found in chaos land (duma, mongol warrior, prison guard)

There could be other stuff usable from chaos land but probably with a little more work.
I don't know if and when I will release them.

I have an idea.

With your current dilemma for the demand of skilled pets.

I agree with your decision to make them as standardized pets as possible and not let any of them be favorable than the other and just pick them for their look, not by their innate power and stats.

That is very good IMO because in that way you can highlight your 2nd batch featured creatures more profoundly than the starting pets but by doing so, it is expected that it may cause some few hardworks/issues. Adding a second pet vendor would only make towns more crowded, the actual modding for the new pets is a sure chore, and thinking of a way how to implement that variety without making it look easy to acquire --- I can only imagine the time and effort would be spent for that.

With Sch123's pet merge idea, it is more likely the same with my Ultimate Pet Mod pitch. The major difference is the scrapping of the multiple pets concept and I get that, I get why it would not be practical in the actual game.

But I do still feel that the fishing system needs to be revitalized.

To make it easier for your end. Maybe you can simply incorporate specialized fishes, that will grant your pet useful skills instead of inventing/recycling skills for each unique pet, sacrificing look over functionality.

I'm a little confused about that.
Do you mean fishes that attribute generic skills whatever what is your pet ?
Is that possible outside of the spells system ?
And how will it be possible to know what are the skills memorized ?

Maybe not generic skills anymore, I know how difficult to make those.

My suggestion is to just give them extravagant spells that every pet can execute.

I'm not sure what's the limit of granting spells to act like skills, this need to be explored.

And how will it be possible to know what are the skills memorized ?
I don't think there's a natural way to know what your pet's skills have but you can try adding UI feature in the pet inventory. Or just simply, make those skills/spells have buff icons along with their duration when activated.

Bug Report:

Hi @Korzeam, I crashed when using Flamekegger Dwarf Pet. More precisely every time I use a skill to attack enemy I crash. I've tried with all vanilla class and some Mod classes.

Is it possible because he does not have close range attacking animation like punching ? Because I saw him specifically for range attacks and didn't do melee attacks. Maybe if you give the fireball skill as a normal attack for Dwarf pet Flamekegger attacks will solve the problem.  ;D

I can't reproduce the problem, it seems to work for me.
What other mods do you use and can you give me an example of skill you use ?

The First test only uses Variant Mod and the Second test with other mod classes. The result is the same. :(

What I do is, for Example: I use Embermage class and Flamekegger Dwarf as Pet. When I want to attack enemies with basic attacks (with weapons) there is no problem. But when I want to use skill (Magma Spear) to attack the enemy, I crash when skills hit the enemies (More precisely: when players & pets attack the same enemy).

After careful observation, the cause of the crash is when the Player (use skill) & Flamekegger Dwarf Pet attack the same enemy. I tried to attack (use skill) a different enemy from the enemy that Pet attacked and the result didn't crash. But when attacking the same enemy, it will crash immediately. ???

Add More Alternative Color

Hi @Korzeam

- Can you add an alternative color for pet panther (tiger skin) to give the color "Black Tiger".

- Make the white tiger from skin panther smoother, the white color is too bright. Maybe it can be a little more soft. I think the previous white tiger color was better. :)
