Author Topic: Authentication between sections of the site not working right.  (Read 1718 times)

I just noticed this when I went to go fetch some tools for a solution to my forum question (at this time the first and only, but probably not for long ;) ). I logged in to the Torchmodders forum directly, so the main page and wiki do not have me authenticated.

Then I authenticated on the main page and got this error upon entry to the wiki:
Code: [Select]
Warning: mdecrypt_generic() [function.mdecrypt-generic]: An empty string was passed in /home/torchlig/public_html/torchmodders.com/wiki/inc/phpseclib/Crypt_Base.php on line 915

My guess would be this is something related to Single Sign-On, but I'm not 100% sure.

Also, those error messages look quite revealing. I see a Linux box, for one, is running this site. Those errors should be kept to a log (I'd assume they are already) and a user-friendly version should be output to the screen that doesn't tell me the username of the Linux server running this.

Very good point there Silver! @Wolven  knows more about the innards of this site and how its hosted. Lets hope he sees this soon!

Hi.

This site is long overdue for an overhaul. Well, actually it needs some love and attention, which I've not given it for a while. I'll start looking into upgrading the various sections. Both the forum and wiki needs an update, but there are some issues related to the automagic update process of this. I'll try to fix it though.

SSO (JFusion) probably needs an update too. It has always had some issues with the wiki.

I'll start doing some maintenance work over the next few days. Hopefully I don't break things...  ;)

I've updated the wiki, forums and Single-Sign-On module. SSO between the front page (Joomla) and the wiki is still not working correctly for sign on. But the major functionality we need, which is a single point for account creation, should work just fine.

See if you still get the same error when trying to enter the wiki now, SilverNexus.
