Adding images to layouts?
« on: »
I've been tinkering a lot with particles and skills and I'm trying to figure out how to get my DDS texture to display in my particle or layout -layout. Basically I'm trying to get my texture to face straight up under the players feet.

The problem is I can't get the texture/picture to display at ALL, does anyone know how to do this?

Hey Hax,

I don't know for sure, but I remember someone mentioning that imported .dds files needed to be saved with DXT5 (Interpolated Alpha).  I have no idea what that means, but it's an option in Paint.net.

Also, maybe just restart GUTS?  A good restart fixes many problems.  I know that's not very helpful but I got nothin' else.

I'm familiar with DXT5 that you stated, and I'll try that. I appreciate your input!

Typically I use DXT3 because it works the best when texturing weapons as it keeps the size down.

Thanks again gyt! :D

Will post back with results.

Using a DXT5 produced the same result~ gonna need to wait until someone who's proficient with particles can pipe in.

Thanks :D

You might try to get in touch with TwinkleToes directly.  I know he's implemented custom texture files.  He's used them in the TL1CP.  If you download that and unpak it you can find his custom textures in the particles folder, maybe see what format he used.
