Exporting .Mesh files from blender
« on: »
so ive been delving into using blender for editing tl2 models, ive read the tutorials and everything on how to go about importing and exporting mesh files, i can successfully import, but for some reason i cant export.

 using blender 2.72
i used wolvens method to put the addon inside the appdata folder, but it didn't work..
with blender 2.67a
i did the normal procedures, it still didnt work..

the only thing that happens, is when i export into an empty folder i get an empty material file..
anyone got any idea on whats going on?, i know this should work because ive seen many mods do it.

What models you try?
Remove all unnecessary elements, such as spotlights, cameras, etc.
And never marked skeleton for export, only meshes.

:) To begin, try something simple, like a weapon.

2. Export. Choice again.

Before exporting the model, make sure that you do not have unnecessary elements (such as a “Сamera” and a “Lamp” - just delete them). Then select all parts - you can press “A”- “select all” (but it does not always work correctly and often when you export you can get an error) or do this manually (Shift + LMB) by clicking each part in the list (always works correctly).

I use blender 2.65  :) 2.7 did not work for me, as I remember.

If you want to combine the standard Human model and Shadow armor, it's hard enough. Try to start with Shoulders, it is quite easy using my tutorial.

It is important that each piece was attached to a correct skeleton. This can be seen here:

If your pieces have different skeletons, it can not be exported.

actually all i want to do is remove the legs off of the shaodw armor wardrobe variant, for the destroyer, since it can run the destroyers other animations, the current shadow armor uses its own model which is incompatible with the destroyers standard animations, so im recreating it using the wardrobe mesh, my material files are all nailed and it shows up as ghost/transparent, the legs and half the body are still there
but something screwed up with my converter lol, im re installing blender and ill try all your suggestions, thanks kva

Got it, I think it's simple.

woohoo i actually got it to work and it exported out the right model

the only thing is when i go into Tl2, the model ends up becoming a big mess, it probably has something to do with the skeletons like your saying, ill try till i get this!, thanks again kva

I did everything that you need. Also added a bunch of new animations and other things, all that I have done for my dwarf.

Download Shadowarmor

Need a little work on the .animation file, but I still do not have time to do this.  ::)

If you did it once, then it is working. You just need more practice.  :)
