Fishing Add-On
« on: »
Hello guys, I present you a new simple mod I made after some multiplayer sessions with my brother.  8)

Steam Workshop page
Non-Steam Download
This mods adds an icon to the automap to mark the fishing holes. And enables some rare fishing holes that weren't used.

Also with this I have made another discovery, One can merge Units file just like the Spawnclasses and wardrobe files, but in this one the GUID is also necesary so the merge work, and this only works for adding properties that the unit didn't have, you can't overwrite a property with a new one with this method.
edited: It doesn't work.

I added the icon to the fishing holes this way, so this mod should be compatible with the other fishing mods out there. But I'm no sure  :D

Thanks muchofor this Anarch!

Does this mod affect unit files for ALL items, or just the fish units?

Well, my mod only adds to the normal fishing holes units file, and change the ones not being used.

But the method of merging unit files, I'll guess it affects actually every type of dat file, since it worked with spawnclasses and wardrobe too (gets me to think that it because the game convert this .dat files to .bindat and doens't care for file name and only for internal names, GUIDs or properties). But in items is kind of limiting only being able to add things. Obviously I'll keep experimenting with this  :D

Edit: Appartenly I was wrong about the Unit files being merged, tried today and the fishing holes didn't let me interact with them, I don't know what happened once it worked but then not. Well I had to edit the props the usual way and update the mod.

I like this a lot, a simple thing that makes a huge difference  :)

Would you mind if I used the radar icon in Unearthed Arcana?
