Character Progression Concept
« on: »
Hey there, lolesch here with a little introduction to the mod I'm currently working on:

Do you ever reached the endgame state in TL2? I did and after reaching the level cap and opting out your gear... you might wonder what comes next!

Like always this mod is just a part of a bigger Progression rework, changing the leveling mechanics and so on.
So what is it about?
I've added triggerables to the base player counting the weapon hits you perform for each weapontype in the game. This progression is visualized in a separate menu with progression bars so you can check up the next breakpoint. After reaching a breakpoint, lets say 100 Axe weapon hits, a skill ticks in rewarding you with a weapon handle bonus.
The delta between breakpoints will increase each time but expand somewhat endless... so even after reaching max level you might still be rewarded for further gaming.

I want to use the same system on other game mechanics - landing critical hits, dodging attacks or successful blocks will be counted too and get rewarded.

Same goes to stats like
Steps taken
Potions drank
Times gambled
etc.

Let me know what you think about it
Still need to polish a few things and expand it to all the mentioned mechanics...
some projects in progress

I think that is a GREAT idea @lolesch !  I know it is something i would use, definitely.  I think it could be one of those mods that would feel very "natural" as part of the game, but also xhangr it enough to be rewarding/exciting.

I wonder if u could track ratios like # of deaths per 10K damage received (to track survivability :D )

I have never seen something evaluating the DMG recieved though I thought about #player times killed as a penalty mechanic. After death you might get a 5 min XP penalty or something?!
Maybe I can get the "got crit triggerable" working in your favor, so when monsters crit you it improves a passive aura skill reducing their crit dmg - not sure if this is possible (without help :P )

The problem with getting 1-shotted is more about graph scaling balance. HP, HP%, monster DMG and so on
