Switched to SMF forums
« on: »
Hi.

Due to frustrations with adding features and administering our phpBB forums, I've decided to switch (back) to using SMF instead. I remember why I chose SMF the first time around.

I'm sorry for all the back and forth and all the confusion with different looks and layouts. Please bare with me as I experiment with solutions to make this website as best as I can.

P.S. If we for some reason should need to go back to phpBB, it's a relatively simple operation. I hope we won't need to do that though. I'm just saying...

Right, some minor issues followed the transition. I'll post the once I find here.

1. Avatars needs to be  re-uploaded to size correctly.
2. Anything posted within the old custom BBcodes is displayed incorrectly.

This forum setup is a lot more aesthetically pleasing and user friendly, in my opinion. I like the emotes more, as well. I wouldn't worry about the switching back and forth, this site is in its formative stages and that is pretty normal. You've done an excellent job so far. It all flows together nicely. :D

Mmm, I'm new to all this so I'm going to ask a few fool questions. What is phpBB and SMF? I’ll try to learn as quickly as I can. It’s just that my main language is Spanish so may take a while, there are some things easy to understand like “WTF” but when the topic is software I’m totally lost

phpBB and SMF are two different forums. We've been switching back and forth, before we landed on SMF, which is the forum we are using here right now. This has nothing to do with Torchlight modding. But this website.
