I wrote a welcome message on the wiki start page.
I had access right away to the admin pages even though I had just registered - maybe we should set tighter access rights on that.
I'll read up on docuwiki over the next few days, but wanted to ask now whether docuwiki can support commenting in some way?

Hey Phanjam.
I've changed the group policies, so no one should get admin rights just by registering any more. A mistake and oversight by me.
The dark Wiki theme looks good. We can probably use it as a template. With your admin rights I'm sure you can install that theme to the wiki. Feel free to goof around. The color of the forums are not final, but close enough for now. If you find any phpBB themes you think look good, or could look good with some minor tweaks, let me know.
I'll spend the day trying to theme Joomla. I spent all last night trying figure out to tweak a Joomla theme. It's been a while since I did any CSS... -

Hi Wolven! I installed that theme I mentioned - looks okay
But maybe we shouldnt get bogged-down ATM with themes and looks and styles. Functionally, the wiki just needs a sidebar for menus and such (doesnt have one ATM)
I thought the theme I selected supported a sidebar, but it didnt seem to work
I think it has something to do with the version of the wiki and the version of the theme.
Will continue reading up about commenting within the wiki.
How about whether PHPbb forums can support tagging? Any news there? -

From a quick search I found this module: phpBB Topic Tagging I'll have a look at it. Also there are many more default features in phpBB than SMF I think, so let's poke around and read some docs, to familiarize ourselves with what this board can do.

Yeah I'm interested in that tagging thing because it just might transform the forum content into the wiki content (or almost anyway )!
I mean I like the dokuwiki s/w just fine, its easy to use and all, but if we could minimize the number of platforms to manage without shortchanging the members (for good info), I think that would be a good thng

Okay looks like things are starting to settle down as far as how the forums and the wiki will interact.
As discussed in another thread, we'll start writing up some literature about this interaction, what members should do to take advantage of it, and how to use the few tools in place to support these.
On the wiki itself, I've added a main navigation structure (which basically follows the structure in the "Modding" main forum). I will start moving articles from the wikidot wiki site and hope to be done in a few days (there's only 20 articles I think). -

I can access it via the host's Control Panel, and I guess via FTP too. I'll look into an additional account for you, to access where the wiki is located. In the mean time, tell me what edits you need, or link me the page where it's explained and I'll take care of it.

We have a problem with the wiki. Unless you're logged in as a user, you'll only get a plank page when trying to access it.
Not sure where to look for this problem, but I'll do my best.

It's nothing to do with the SSO as far as I can tell, so it has to be with the wiki ACL configuration some where. -

I was getting that a lot last night - even if I was logged in!

But 1 or 2 page refreshes would solve the problem.
I remember you mentioned once why you didn't go for mediawiki, but I can't recall your reasons. Can you run through that again pls? I'm just thinking "possible fall-back option"... -

There's no technical reason why I went with DocuWiki, just that I liked the look and feel better. So if things won't work out with DocuWiki we can definitely give MediaWiki a run.
In fact I have already given it a go earlier today, but I managed to mess up the JFusion config, so I removed the install and made an additional DocuWiki, to see if it had the same problem as the other one. My initial tests worked fine, but I've yet to try and connect the new DocuWiki to JFusion.
I'll experiment a bit and see if I can get one wiki solution working properly. While I do this, SSO to our existing wiki might be off for a while. -

Alright. After hours of trying, failing, searching, re-configuring and finally wiping my TLA website setup, so I could test a clean one identical to this. I finally found where the problem is. It's in the JFusion <--> DokuWiki 'Authentication Mod', which is used to enable reversed dual login. Meaning it's the bit that enables the auto log-in between the main Joomla site and the Wiki.
The fix is to disable this module, and just live with, (for now) that log-in states between the Joomla and DokuWiki is not carried over. You need to manually log in and out of the wiki.
I will keep this issue on my ****-I'd-like-to-fix list, but it will not get high priority right now.
Using MediaWiki was a no go. I get an issue with JFusion if I enable it on MediaWiki. The issue prevents me from getting to the page where I can configure the JFusion plug-ins. It just gives an error message and I need to remove the wiki install to get rid of it.
I'll keep this on my previous mentioned list too, but again, no high priority for this now.
So, to summarize: The wiki is working. You can read it even if you're not logged in. You only need to register at the front to get a wiki account, but you need to log in/out from the wiki it self. -

Agree having no SSO with the wiki is liveable at this time (for a long time, even ). It's more important that it's publicly accessible.

I don't think we'll notice the issue much. Not until when/if we decide to integrate the wiki with Joomla anyway. If we do that, the log in issue might become more apparent.
