What's this guys?!
I'm glad that I'm not the ancient one around here but why does it feel I'm more grumpier and older than you guys....
Ha a bunch of old fogies on here!
@RnF I just want to say before I miss my chance to be able to, your work on the LAO series have been far beyond just merely addons...and I mean that on an outrageously fantastic way! These mods are not your typical better vanilla experience...you guys expounded the TL2 gameplay to another level...breaking the limitation of what TL2 could offer by its known extent and at same time respecting its ground rules like the optimum level 100. If we are talking about paintings, I would say LAO III is becoming the hyper-realism of TL2.
@doudley Thanks for the very kind words! This is one of things that keeps me modding TL2. It just makes the modding worthwhile, even if it's only a few people who enjoy my mods now, since not too many people play TL2 anymore, but a few is enough!
The LAO series did start out as an addon mod with the original. Mainly just adding items and not changing much of anything else. With LAO 2.0 I added a ton of weapons but also tried to address some issues. I didn't balance/test it as much as I probably should have. But that mod certainly has it's place, I am surprised by how many people use that mod still. I am not entirely happy with that version of my mod series since it creates some very over powered items compared to the difficulty of the game... however it lead me to make LAO III which I am really happy with so far. It takes a much more balanced approach but still trying to add a ton of content/items. So your comment about LAO III becoming the "hyper-realism" of TL2 is really good for me to hear. That is pretty much what I was going for with the mod, so I am still on target at least haha. I am not done either, have some cool stuff coming down the pipeline!
The red and blue pill idea came from
@gytfunke when he was kind enough to make a side mod for another mod I was working on. I thought it was brilliant as well! So not my idea, but a really good one!
Which brings up one the best things about modding TL2, it's the modders themselves, without such an amazing group of people my LAO mods (or any of my mods) would not be what they are today. I have had a lot of help, some directly and some indirectly as I read forums such as this one. It is simply awesome.
EDIT: Also need to shout out to the TL2 Developers for leaving the door so wide open on being able to mod the game, thank you!
