ModDrop Mod Manager
« on: »
I mentioned elsewhere that RGF was migrating servers and the move would include a new mod manager. So after bugging him, Webb tells me the mod manager is ModDrop.

So I install it to check it out.

Spoiler (hover to show)

As a mod manager it seems to work very well, UI is verrrry slick.  As I told Webb, I'd be very interested to see how this new capability fosters greater interaction within the community (modders-to-modders, modders-to-users, users-to-users).  The app itself doesn't seem to have much in that regard (I only noticed thumbs-up/down buttons), so maybe it's still the (new) RGF forum which will take care of the community angle.

The other thing I noticed from their promotional video on their site was that "mod monetization" was mentioned; no details yet of course.

Why am i posting this?  I dunno.  It just seems like something worth keeping an eye on.  I'll post back with new stuff if there is any.
