Author Topic: Hi everyone! 3d character and props artist wanting to share 3d skills  (Read 1802 times)

Hi guys,
I'm new here and was very happy to know that there is a dedicated place like torchmodders for TL.
I am a 3d character and prop artist and would like to play the game with awesome mods and help devs with the character models and texture stuff for free.
I love hand-painted textures and that's what hooked me to TL in the first place. Before, I only played the game but know I would love to PLAY again and help out on mod stuff. One twist though, I dont know how to mod or where to start if I want to make models and textures for the game. So if there are any teams who would like to include me beneath their wings and guidance, I would pretty much appreciate it. play and create at the same time is the thing for me.

For my lowpoly model and texture samples here's where I am at.

Its actually my first serious lowpoly handpainted work and I really am happy with the kind of art if produces and would love to this ALWAYS!
So yeah, if you ever need some help on models or textures (npc, props etc etc) add me :)

??? OMG! A real 3d artist! and He comes with an awesome prop!

Well, first of all, welcome to Torchmodders and to the awesome world of Torchlight modding.

I'm sure you will find help here, I think @Kva3imoda, @Vkoslak  and myself are the more experienced and active around that have worked with adding models to the game. But my experience is more around importing weapons and animations. Also @Arkham has some experience with adding props, but he is not too active this days.

For starters, what modelling program do you use? and do you have it set up to export your models to the Ogre mesh format?

Welcome Rafael!

Yeah, that pirate's table looks like it would fit right in TL2.

Hi there Rafael! Welcome to Torchmodders ;D

One thing we try to do around here is collaborate really openly on mods. So someone with great mod ideas but not enough skillz to pull it off is most welcome, right along with the skilled modders.

In your case, I'm excited to hear you want to contribute your skills in mod projects while getting better at the same time and I'm very happy you chose to do that here.

We keep it laid back too ;) modding is something we're doing for the love of it and usually with way too little time so "fun" is important!

I really hope you enjoy it around here!
