Author Topic: Hello TorchModders! Thank you for all of your contributions and help!  (Read 3412 times)

First I thank "Phanjam" for inviting me over here by tricking me out of the TL1CP comments into a discussion about "modding" (turned out to be a sneaky invite to here  ::)) from a barely maintained Steam Group...  :D

I owe you all my sincere apologies for taking so long to sign up over here... I feel so comfortable over at Steam involved with discussions involving players questions on TL2 basics.  ???

I'm embarrassingly ignorant of Guts due to all my time spent commenting on TL2 mod functionality on the Workshop instead of studying how to make mods ha ha.  :-[

= = = = = = =

I never felt ready to engage in discussions with modders on the Steam Workshop in my first year of TL2 without mods and it just didn't hold my desire after mastering the Engineer on NG+5 Tarroch's Tomb and playing some Embermage and Berserker.

I tried to get into Elite "Synergies" but the power of the bosses was too insane for my builds.

Eventually I got hooked on the "Far East Packs" and eventually "Additional Classes Add On" yet the bugs and unfinished content led me towards "Darkthan's Classes" with "Torchfun Part 1" and "LAO 2.0 Chaos".

But it felt like it needed more content so I got involved with "Better Vanilla Game Simple [and] Spicy".

Even then there was a need for mods that would improve the game in the smaller areas and now I really look forward to helping "doudley" with mods.

I like the balance "RnF" is taking with "LAO III" and I hope it allows more weapon options for the Outlander, Embermage and some mod classes particularly.

= = = = = = =

A friend of mine got me into TL2 and moved on after a year leaving me curious about the Workshop and that's where I met "doudley" who encouraged me to continue helping other modders since he had "retired" from the mod scene.

I have assisted several modders on the Steam Workshop here and there since then- the most helpful was "Cooperton" with his Summoner Class before advising "Danielmratliff21" on mod compatibility for his mod packs and now helping "doudley" again after his 2 year absence with his latest mods.

= = = = = = =

In the mean time, I have my own "Colburn Twin Class" written in theory with 70% of the idea completed, I am simply stalling myself since I need to learn Guts before I do anything with that.

I also need to go learn Krita to make some new pictures for the new mods of "Danielmratliff21"...
help "doudley" on his mods...
start getting myself better acquainted here on Torchmodders...
and other things that have nothing to do with Torchlight... busy life ^_^

= = = = = = =

Thank you so much for having me here!  :)

At this point after playing Torchlight 2 for 8 years original and modded... ignorant of mods and now wise with compatibility... the one thing I value the most-

-is being able to have "support" from the author of any mod.

I think the only advice I can give is that you don't burn yourself out. ^_^

Very happy to see you sign up here, you always give good feedback and have good ideas.  Even if you never make a mod, you can still contribute in other very valuable ways.
