Hey there
@AwesumPawsum !
I really like your Post! "Once upon a time" I was interrested into that topic like you but from the Modders perspective... I was researching the Forums looking for Lore till I figured out there there is not much detail about things outside the game. However,
this might be interesting! since we found some Lore that didn't make it into the game (for example the name of the second continent: Auberon).
I've lost all my modding stuff thanks to a PC crash so I never finished the
LoreDatabase...
I'm still pretty interested in something ongoing in that direction as an inspiration for new Content. Currently I'm working on a
classless concept reworking the skills system, attributes and some other stuff. In my imagination the mod has the opportunity to get some kind of stand alone. But to become there it needs much more content such as a story line!
Back in those days I was thinking of a pre sequel Mod, covering up the Alchemists process of getting corrupted by the ember blight (a mechanic I want to implement into the game - corrupted items or NPC interaction based on your characters "corruption").
I'd like to see the expansion as a gap filler between the 2 games taking place deep in the mines to highlight to support the lore of lost civilizations, prepairing the alchemists way out. Meanwhile the Destroyer and Vanquisher could prepare for his arrival, calling out for heroes (our 4 tl2 classes) to prevent his dark way. The plot should include characters from both the games and be told from the perspective of a new character (classes will ofc be added).
Otherwise it could be an "act 5" going ahead after the defeat of the netherlord... much like the diablo series :?
I'll stop here so you are free to imagine on your own.
To get some community Input I also started a
discussion on Steam (you might need to log in to steam to make this work) with the same topic and a few ppl had some funky Ideas to implement...
Well, I'm looking forward to further progress!

Cheerio,
lolesch
