Hello there,
lately I've been replaying TL2 without any mods, enjoyed it alot, the outlander has always been my personal favorite ^^.
After some time I started playing mods, such as Far east pack, UI mods as such from the Diablo series and many other that didn't change the main game too much besides new classes or how fishing worked for example, I never liked synergies cause it added too much from the start of the game, not knowing where too begin, but that might just be me.
So I figured I wanted to create my personal class, how I would enjoy the game the most and maybe other people as well!
I came up with the idea to slow down time while you're playing, using the freeze effect (Cast,Slow and attack speed) to replicate the idea for my class, "The Timewarper".
I personally have no experience in coding language or anything off the sort, I'm going in blind basically

I used alot of wikipedia to do everything I want and try to create for this class, so far I got the class implemented (created the unit, unittype for it etc.)
I also got as far as creating a passive that slows down time on every hit you place on the enemy, scaling up in slows like the outlanders gains stats as you charge up. The slow currently does 35% slow with a 40dps multiplies, so making it the hardest to build up currently compared to the main game.
At full charge it gains another 40% stats granting a total of 75% slows (to all 3 stats, once again to replicate slowing down time) but it only lasts for as long as you're in combat. the 40% bonus falls of after 5 seconds of not being in combat currently, thinking about changing it to 3.
The only thing I can't seem to replicate is that I don't want this as an on hit, I wanted to create it as an aura in a 10-15m radius, still gotta test what seems fair and not completely breaking the game by slowing everything down by 80% across the screen for no reason lol.
Since I got no experience I wouldn't mind sharing this idea or have someone help me out with it, I can only do so much

As some more explanation for the class itsself, the Timewarper has 4 skilltrees (I already created this as well, ty tutorials once again

)
The first tree being electric based and speed heavy, not plenty of damage really, mainly your get around skills and plenty of shock procs which is your main source of damage really in this tree.
The second tree was the idea of the Timewarper being consumed by the netherrealm, bringing in plenty of summon and poisen and debuff skills to bring your enemies down mainly with your summons, this would work great with the slow aura from your charge since minions would also get an easier time staying on targets buffing them in a way. Debuffs to help out your minions and your poisen skills in this tree.
The third tree is more of an full on passive tree, not like the passives in your first 2 trees. Passives that grant you bonuses such as, health regen, more % health, gold drop%, finding magic tems%, obtaining more fame and exp points, you get the idea, an utility tree to go with your playstyle to help out, still gotta get creative with this tree besides basic effects as those I just called out.
The last and fourth tree is more of an weaponmastery tree, granting you different bonuses once again based on your playstyle. Want an crossbow based mastery that gives lifesteal and more attack speed while using crossbows as example? This is your skill to pick up while going through the game!
This class even with the last 2 skilltrees still wouldn't be for anyone, it all depends on how I build the first 2 trees, since that's gonna be your main playstyle at all times anyways, the utilities and weaponmastery would only help in extra gains you prefer while playing.
The Timewarper and it's slow aura aren't even breaking the game, cause once you get the endgame with some ridiculious statboosts you will one shot most things anyways for a normal playthrough

The slows mostly also help new players stay alive alot longer since an 75% slow in stats is not nothing obviously!
Don't forget I'm also still in the process trying to make this aura, so enemies outside the aura are not effected which means you can't just sit back either and expect to survive, staying close is the key with the character. Ranged weapons would only allow you to deal dmg outside you aura while anything getting close to you would be slowed while you take care of ranged enemies, see the idea?
Hopefully someone can respond to this and help me out, cause I'm stuck with the aura passive (aka chargebar aura slows).
Sincerely,
A returning Torchlight player
