Title: Enemy Desing
Post by: Anarch16sync on September 03, 2014, 06:58:38 pm
Well, I open this topic to discuss the design and the reasoning behind it of the enemies the player will face in The lost expedition dungeon.

First, a little introduction, the models that have been provided to me by a contributor and someone I'm considering a new friend, are 3 types of nerubian, the worker, the warrior and the caster. Also this models come with 4 different color schemes, so I decided to make 4 sub-types of nerubians, every sub-type corresponding to a different floor on the dungeon + one related to summons.

All this is right now only a matter of desing, the ideas posted here may be changed in the future if they can't be implemented or other problems arise.

The type of nerubian will share a common passive buff, that will stack in function of the number of nerubians of the same type that are near, this will make fighting a large number of enemies alone a very dangerous and difficulat task, since my idea is that this dungeon is going to be something to take with a friend or two.

So, the shared passives are going to be:

This sub-types, or what I will call them from now on: species, of nerubians, will share a common active skill and will relate to the part they take in the nerubian society.

The shared actives are going to be:

Well, this is it for now, the next post is going to be about the unique skills per monster.

Any comments, dubs, ideas or critics are well recived  8)

PS: Will post screenshots in the future.

Hey Anarch,

Just an idea to pass by you.  What if Heart, Claws and Magic of the Swarm worked for ALL the Nerubians?  So, workers would give warriors hp bonuses?  Then, you have to choose if you want to kill the workers first to get all their HP down or if you want to kill the warriors so they stop doing so much damage...

You know... actually I like it, I will roll with it, since it is easy to implement once the skills are done. :D That may be a little harder to balance but will make the fights more interesting, and that's exactly what I want  8)
