Title: Steam Controller Custom UI
Post by: Aherin on July 18, 2018, 03:54:32 pm
Hi guys!
Just thought I'd let you know I've finished a new mod. Take a look :D

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1444204436

It customises the UI to work better with a steam controller. I also worked out a way to use Yolomouse to make the cursor disappear. It's very distracting having a cursor in combat when you're using a controller.

Cheers!

Thanks bro :)
My skills still pale in comparison to doudley's, but I've learnt alot. I'd love to be able to make the ui fully compatible with a controller, without the need to turn the cursor on ever. I just don't know how I'd do the inventories and merchants!

Hi @Aherin

This Mod is great, I like the UI in this Mod. But unfortunately I did not use the Controller. :)

Therefore can you just make UI only without the other. Because when I use this Mod, this mod will overwrite some UI in Mod Synergies & Essentials also other mod.

Maybe you can use RaffoBaffo Evil UI Merge (D2 Orbs) (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=934545577) as the base (I like the D2 Dark Orbs there). This Mod can run well with Mod Synergies & Essentials without overwriting other than UI only, but I prefer with UI in this Mod Xbox Controller Custom UI (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1461407029) & Steam Controller Custom UI (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1444204436)

Spoiler: Custom UI (hover to show)

I hope this Custom UI Mod that can be played harmoniously with Mod Synergies & Essentials also other mod. ;)

Hey man, I'm glad you like it. It started off looking very similar to RaffoBaffos' but now by the end it looks very different. So just to be clear, are you looking for just the HUD and not the menus etc? If so I should be able to do that for you.

*Edit:But first a few questions about your preferences.. :)

How about hotkeys 6-0 on the right hand side? I made them look that way specifically so that you could see which skills are "linked" together on the controller. I'm guessing you'd want it made the same as the left side?

Also, would you still like the hotkey text to only show on mouseover or be returned to vanilla?

The text above the belt has actually been put in manually because if you use the hotkey text it just looks plain bad and takes up too much space. If you want to have something different for those shortcuts ie not shift+1 etc let me know and I can reflect it on the hud.

Anyway, just place your order and it'll be delivered asap :)

Yes, that's what I mean. I like the HUD you made. Reminds me of PotionUI (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1382259354) Mod. But unfortunately the location he put additional slots blocking the cursor to attack the enemy. If he had put it on the HP & MP Orb and also given information on HP & MP in% it would have been good.

Because I don't use a controller, it's best to start returning to vanilla. Later, if there is something that can be developed, it will be easier to see the difference.

By the way, I found a misplacement for skill information (Maybe for some Mod classes), the small icon is blocked by the Charge Bar. Maybe the placement can be changed. :)

This is when I try the Brute Elemental Class.

This is off topic, this is my personal request.
Are you interested to make HUD Combination from several existing HUD plus add some new ideas. :D

If you are interested I will explain the idea. ;)

Well I'm more than happy to make it for you man. I'll do my best to build to your specifications. But obviously the more complicated it gets, the more time consuming it will be for me. So tell me your idea and I'll let you know if I can do it for you :D

Now as for the buff icon being blocked, that issue is easily fixed but I'd need to incorporate the charge bar for every class and then move it to the correct position.  It's treated as a separate piece in a folder called UNITUNIQUEMENUS.

I've started putting it together already, with the hotkeys and their corresponding text back to the vanilla look. I've also put in the D2 orbs and moved the options menu button to the bottom corner of the health orb (Instead of the ?), just to put something there really heh.

Maybe it's better to put my request about Custom UI / HUD, into a new forum (http://torchmodders.com/forums/help-wanted/request-custom-ui-hud/msg9479/#msg9479) so it doesn't mix up. ;)
