Yup, I need some new decorations for my mod.

The destroyed Embercopter and its parts. As you know, I've done it a long time ago.

Also, I need some non-standard lootables. I suppose that these will be "uncivilized grave" like the dead adventurer and a variety of corpses(crash victims).

In this topic I will show new props when(and if) I'll do it.  :)

2-way portal.

For a long time I want to try something like this. The basic idea - I need a mechanism which allows to move from one point to another and back again. It can be used in different situations, but I need this to create secret places.

You can decorate it as you wish - a rope, secret holes, vine, etc. Is important that you have two points of teleportation - A and B.

Now I need to figure out how to introduce delay during transfer. Something, like you know in other games - dimming the screen for a few seconds.

And perhaps I need the selection menu, something like - "You want to use it? 1. Yes 2. No"

Yeah, now it looks amazing. I'm surprised at how vegetation changes appearance.

It was not easy because there is a problem of portal activation. A timer does not want to run the portal. So I added additional triggers.

Hehe, everything comes with practice.  :) A good tutorial is in the Wiki: Outdoor Level Chunk Tutorial (http://docs.runicgames.com/wiki/Outdoor_Level_Chunk_Tutorial). Everything else - is a practice and knowledge about keyboard shortcuts.

@Kva3imoda What sort of stat check do you want to perform?  Do you want to have the player 'roll' to find the treasure, like this?

treasure roll = (int {1:100})+(Magic Find))
hidden treasure = (some value, say 50)

if treasure roll >= hidden treasure
     show hidden treasure


Or, in English... Roll a percent chance for the player to find the treasure, modified by their magic find % and compare it to the treasure's standard chance of being found.

Well, I think the GF and MF working fine for spawnclass. I need something different.
If you remember, I have a Luck stat(which you did  :) ).

My idea is that Luck allows you to find valuable hidden treasures.
For example:
The level contains:
2 Treasure, Luck required >= 5
2 Treasure, Luck required >= 3
3 Treasure, Luck required >= 0

If your character has Luck = 0, you will find 3 treasures
If your character has Luck = 3, you will find 5 treasures
If your character has Luck = 5, you will find 7 treasures

My shovel is not only a garden tool, but also a 2H sword.  :D

I plan to make a starting "handmade" set of weapons, such as pipes, clubs, etc.
Be careful, your shovel-weapon may break.  ;)

I remember a thread - someone was trying to make a stat to simulate your weapon slowly becoming damaged due to use and when it reached a certain level, your weapon would break. Is your weapon-break something like that Kva?

Nope, Pha. I remember this idea, but I think it is too complicated and unnecessary. My shovel breaks down when you try to dig up a hidden treasure.  :) Now the chance of breakage is 20%. After your shovel will break you need to find a new or crafted it.

Hmm ... do you mean it does not work in multiplayer?  :) I think if in multiplayer everyone can find a treasure, without checking - it fine for me.

I meant it wasn't easy.  But it was.  I was just making it difficult when I didn't need to.  It will work fine in multiplayer.

Here is the file you need: Hidden Treasure (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5_51x6ALcyzel9sdUxpY080dDQ/view?usp=sharing)

You can find it in MEDIA/LEVELSETS/PROPS.  It's called 'Hidden Treasure'.

You need to change a few things:

First, you need to modify the 'Luck Check' widget
--Change CHARACTER STRENGTH to your LUCK STAT
--Change the FLOAT to the desired value.  This is the minimum LUCK the character needs.  If they have at least this much luck they will always find this hidden treasure spot.

Next, modify the layout link which I've called 'standard treasure chest'
--Link it to your buried treasure layout.  You can use a layout link and change the file reference, this is easy.  Or you can remove the layout link and paste the layout components of your buried treasure directly, but this is more work.  If you do this, put your buried treasure in a folder here.

If you remove the layout link, you'll need to change the logic
--In my logic, you'll see a link between 'evaluated true' and 'enable and show'.  A folder will only have 'show'.

Voila.  You can save different difficulties and different qualities of chest and make them different layout links for easy use.  If you have any questions, lemme know!

It should be really easy.  You should already have a player 'Luck' stat from when I set up the stats for you.  Use that.

Hey JacKc,

Well, I thought about it yesterday, but I'm afraid that's impossible. I can replace the standard and rare random chests in the game, but it can lead to failure of some events and сhallenges. Another way - to remake all the locations in the game is extremely complicated.

Yes, it's an interesting idea. Now we are thinking how to implement the Lock Picking and lockpicks. I want to do something similar like in Gothic.

It seems that everything is working well, but I'm not sure.

In addition, I found (I think) one unpleasant property - Stats Operator & Stats Evaluator can`t have more than 15 outputs, because they do not work.

Yeah, I thought about it. Maybe next time I'll try it for my "super-spider" logic circuit. :)
I'm not sure about the 15 output limit, just may be complex schemes do not work properly.

All of these monsters is my attempt to create new(for TL) and interesting natural beings.

I need a name for the water monster. Some variants:
Germteeth
Wetstep
Foulclaw
Vileface
Vexfang
Frogtooth

Thanks TwinkleToes. Yes, I thought about a fishing spot, but not as a "special deadly fishing event". I also thought about how to replace all fishing pools in the game. But this will be tricky, because the direction is important for spawn. Maybe I will try to create an 8-direction trigger for this.

Physical resists it is logical for these creatures, because flies are small and it's hard to kill. Yes, I want to do a physical resist for this monster.  :)

Also I have some idea about a variety of this swarm.
a) Bloodsuckers - ordinary black flies. Phys res/Phys damage
b) Vespa - big flies.  Medium phys damage
c) Elemental fireflies(orange, green, blue and white) - Phys res+ Elemental res/Elemental damage

Mirefang  (mire = swamp, fang = tooth)
Filthwalker
Swamp Fiend
Mireman/Miremaid



And for an exceptionally large one (i.e. boss or champion)

For an extra variant of the swarms:

Aedes (Aedes Egpytii, the mosquito that carries Malaria, Dengue Fever, and a bunch of other awful diseases)

-Aedes swarms infect the character with a long-duration poison DOT.  Or maybe a permanent one for which you need to craft a cure from local plants.

Siltclaw/Siltfang
Verdant stalker/prowler
Putrid stalker/prowler
Muck Glutton
Shoal/Shallows stalker/prowler
Lochfang/claw/bane
Angler's Bane
etc. (may add to this later)
(Mix and match to your liking.)

The art is great! But I like the monotone (2nd) version more than the multicolored one (reminds me too much of a VU meter :P ), but maybe a color other than blue? something more "ember-y"?

While I was wasting my time and making my mod, a new genre of games appeared in the world. And I'm talking about Souls-like games.  8) I know for sure that we cannot make a real Souls-like game, but we can try to make a Souls-like-like game.

And here is my new plan!  :D

1. We need a unique dark and gloomy dungeons.
2. Dungeons should be expandable in the future.
3. No generated monsters.
4. Simple and clear progress system
5. Simple and clear combat system
6. Simple crafting system
7. Less items but more logic and quality

Technically, we are talking about Metroidvania with RPG elements and crafting.
